Finding Books, e-Books, and Other Media Resources

To find what resources are available in the library search the Library Catalog

HOT TIP! When searching for biblical resources like exegetical commentaries or bible dictionaries use a search string like one of the following with no punctuation.

bible n t galatians

bible o t hosea

bible dictionaries

Always check the status of a book to see if it is available for you to check out. If it is not available, or if you are having trouble finding a good title on your topic, you may want to search for books in other libraries. To find books in other libraries, search WorldCat.

Finding Articles in Journals and Other Databases

The single best online resources for the study of topics in Biblical studies, theology, and religion is ATLA Religion Database. This resource is compiled by the American Theological Library Association. The database covers Biblical studies, world religions, church history, and religious perspectives on social issues.

HOT TIP! When using the ATLA Religion Database to find articles focused on particular passages in the Bible use a search string similar to the following.

SR "Galatians 3"

SR "Genesis 12"

SR "Psalms 50"

For a list of other online resources with significant coverage of Biblical studies, theology, and religion use the Ministry Databases tab above.

For a complete list of online resources accessible through Warren Library, click on the All Databases tab above.
